Course Learning Objectives: 

Upon completion of the Course, the participants should be better able to:

  • Recognize newly recognized dermatological entities
  • Understand diagnostic criteria for discussed inflammatory and neoplastic conditions
  • Use updated diagnostic terminology and diagnostic classification schemes in their routine practice

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of dermatopathologists, pathologists, dermatologists and other health care professionals who incorporate dermatopathology consultations or procedures in their practice. This educational activity is designed for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Each physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Course Format:

The format of the course will include discussion of clinical cases and short lectures. The Course will comprise of six 2.5 hour-long Didactic Sessions and three 1 hour-long Dermpedia Case Reviews.

Didactic Sessions will be centered around common topics and will be presented by the Course Faculty. They will include presentation of 8 cases and 2 to 3 short lectures designed to discuss presented entities and their critical histological differential diagnoses. The cases will be posted by the Faculty before the Course and will be viable by clicking on the link associated with each session.

To make sure that the Course meets the real needs of the students, and to take advantage of the functionalities of Dermpedia website which allows registered users to publish their cases directly from their desktop, the participants will be encouraged to submit their own interesting or challenging cases on Dermpedia Conference Page. These case will be discussed by the authors and faculty during Dermpedia Case Review sessions at the Course and using Dermpedia online discussion forum before or after the Course. 

The Course will provide plenty of informal contact time with the Faculty, during breaks, formal dinner and daily reception.

Tuition: Full tuition is $850 per participant.

Physicians in Training Discount: We set aside a limited number of significantly discounted ($500 off regular price) admissions for physicians in training (residents and fellows). These admissions will be sold on the first-come, first-served basis. In order to qualify for the discounted fee of $350 you need to:

  • present a proof of being in training at the registration

To receive the discount you have to register as "physician in training" and enter "physician in training" code during registration.

Refund/cancellation policy

A refund will be issued if requested on or before Wednesday, March 24th. Refunds are issued in the full amount, less a $50.00 registration processing fee. Substitutions are always welcome. Refunds will not be issued after the specified date. All refunds must be requested in writing.

Exhibitors: 

To preserve the ambience of the Course only a limited number of exhibitors will be allowed to present their services or products at the Course. Each exhibiting company will be provided with one 6 feet x 30 inches (or 16 inches if requested) table and free power outlet. The tables will be located in the breakout/coffee room allowing ample opportunity to interact with the participants and faculty. The room is located between the lecture room and the open patio and will be the social center of the Course. The exhibitor's fee ($850 per representative) includes an offical Course dinner and coffee breaks. The exhibitors are eligible for all the resort discounts available to the students. The exhibitors will be asked to set up their displays on Friday 4/16/2010 before 11 am. They can be taken down on Saturday or Sunday in the morning. The exhibitors are responsible for all the costs of set up and transportation.
