I talked to another practice interested in dermpath consults, coverage and locums. I notice that there may be a shortage of dermatopathologists developing in the US. I am glad as www.dermatopathologyconsultations.com practice offers an alternative to hiring a dermatopathologist.

I would like to recommend to all dermatopathologists a recently published book (only on Kindle at USA at this point), an autobiography by Dr. Richard Scolyer a dear friend of Dermpedia. This is a book about cancer, courage, science and luck. https://www.amazon.com/Brainstorm-Richard-Scolyer-ebook/dp/B0D61L6PK1

As the year 2024 is winding down it is time to reflect and think about the future. It was a great year for me both personally and professionally. I became a grandfather which is an experience I highly recommend to everyone. Work was great. With new leadership my practice at Lahey Clinic turned around after a few years of turmoil. I had great cases in my consultation practice. Many people use me sporadically for difficult cases. However, the most rawarding aspect of my practice is that I function as a virtual associate for many organizations that do not have sufficient dermpath expertise or staffing. I really cherish these relationships as they allowed me to make many new friends all around the country from Puerto Rico to Hawaii. I definitely want to expand this aspect of my practice next year so visit www.dermatopathologyconsultations.com or call if you need dermpath, oral path, mucosal GU?GYN help and would like to work with me. The highlight on Dermpedia was the Soft Tissue Tumors Course we run with Steve Billings. The live event had the best reviews ever. The on-demand version will be the best resource for those who want to get an update on the subject for years to come. We expanded the Dermpedia membership benefits which now include access to all purchased and expired CME Course in addition to the ever growing library of Consults and Workshops. The 2025 Dermpedia Course with Pedram Gerami on Genetic Correlations in Non-Spitz tumors was approved and will take place in April next year. Soon we will move to a new platform for Consults and Workshops to create a better experience for the participants and improve communications. None of this would be possible without the financial support of sustaining Dermpedia Members. While Dermpedia needs money to run, the symbolism of 100s of dermatopathologists making voluntary contributions to support this project is even more important to me. Thank you Members. If you are not a sustaining member yet, I am asking you to become one. In addition to enjoying the tangible benefits you will also feel great about landing your support to a worthwhile cause of sharing the knowledge and experience of dermatopathology. The next time you join a free Dermpedia event you will no longer have this uneasy feeling that others are supporting what you take for free. Another reason to act now is that the new Membership fees will increase next year.
I hope that you will find peace and time to relax during the Holiday Season and that you and your family will have a save and prosperous New Year.
Merry Christmass, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
